Board of Education

The Board of Education provides overall governance and are, through the Superintendent of Schools, responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the public school system. The Board is comprised of nine Trustees, five elected at large from within the City of Kamloops and one each from TNRD Areas A and B and the District of Clearwater; TNRD Area O and the District of Barriere; TNRD Areas L and P, the Village of Chase and the Resort Municipality of Sun Peaks; and, TNRD Area J and the District of Logan Lake. Together, and by committee, they provide public oversight in the areas of Education, Finance, Facility Management, Human Resources and Policy. The Board meets formally twice per month at the School Board Office on 9th Avenue in Kamloops and once per year in each rural ward.
