Second Languages
School District No. 73 offers many opportunities for students to learn one or more second languages by offering an excellent variety of second language programs. Students benefit from exposure to a second language and learn an appreciation for cultural differences.
At the elementary level, Grade 5 to 7 students are offered Core French at all schools. In addition, Secwepemc (Shuswap) language instruction is currently offered at:

French Immersion
French Immersion is an enrichment opportunity for Anglophone students who wish to develop a high level of proficiency in both official languages. The goal of the French Immersion program is for students to be functionally bilingual by the end of Grade 12. Students enrolled in French Immersion study the same BC curriculum as students in the English-language program with the language of instruction in French. Entry to the French Immersion program is in Kindergarten or Grade 1.
