Facilities Configuration

In July of 2008, the Board of Education reviewed and approved a “Planning For The Future” document which outlined our Long Term Plan.  Two themes within that plan related to the Configuration of School District Facilities:

  1. Theme 2: Education
    • Goal 7 – To Create Effective and Efficient Learning Environments
  2. Theme 4
    • Goal 1 – To reduce our environmental footprint,
    • Goal 2 – to provide high quality facilities, transportation system and support systems,
    • Goal 3 – To create effective, efficient district support facilities

A senior staff committee was appointed to look at every facility in the school district and prepare a report, which was presented to the Board on June 22nd, 2009.

In the 2009/2010 school year, more than 30 public meetings were held, reviewing the plan and collecting input.  In addition, the Board considered submitted written responses and the District Administration responded to a number of inquiries.

On February 22nd, the Board made its final set of decisions regarding reconfigurations and school closures.
