2010 Olympic Media Coverage is being broadcast on the CTV and NBC websites.   If you find that you are unable to view the content you can use links on this page.

  • Youtube has recorded contents and hightlights.
  • CTV and NBC are using a technology called Silverlight/Moonlight to stream videos.  There are known issues with this video streaming technology not working on Windows Mac and Linux.

Improving Video Experience

The following is a letter from PLNet with suggestions on how to improve viewing experience.

Dear PLNet Clients;

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games provide our students with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience an international event held in our province.  PLNet is excited to support the Ministry of Education’s Vancouver 2010 initiatives which integrate the Olympics into the classroom.  Many of these initiatives will benefit from streaming events online via PLNet. 

To provide a quality experience for all students in the Province please consider the following when connecting to a broadcast stream:

  • Please access content from the official broadcasting partner of Vancouver 2010.  This would be CTV and TSN and the broadcast media consortium:  http://ctvmedia.ca/olympics/
  • When possible, set up a viewing area in a centralized location such as an auditorium or lab with a projector so one stream can be viewed by multiple participants. 
  • If a projector is not available in Lab situations, please ask students to pair up to reduce the number of independent streams.
  • Utilize collaborative tools when possible to distribute streaming within a building.
