District Art Show 2012
Secondary Art Students from all over District 73 are excited to showcase their work at Visual Collision: Experience Diversity. The Art Exhibition will be in the Sagebrush Theatre Lobby from April 3rd - May 30th, 2012 with a reception celebrating the artists and their work on Thursday April 12, 6:00 pm in the Lobby. Friends, family, and anyone who enjoys art is welcome to attend.
TRU Visual Art Students lead the process of curating and hanging the art for our District Art Show. The TRU students, as well as 2 senior art students from each secondary school spent a day studying gallery spaces, discussing what a curator does, critiquing art pieces and making decision about placement of art work. A name was chosen for the art exhibit, a sign was created, advertising was published and artists statements were written. The students then spent another day hanging the artwork and setting up the gallery. The students have also accepted the leadership responsibility of presenting the reception.
