District Honour Band and Choir Concert
Student Musicians from every secondary school in our District have been auditioned and are rehearsing for the annual District Honour Band and Choir Concert. This years event will be held on Tuesday November 15, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Sagebrush Theatre. Tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased at the Henry Grube Center, Long and McQuade Music store or at the door.
All the musicians are looking forward to working with guest conductors on November 13 - 15 in preparation for the concert. Jill SparrowNg from Delta BC will be working with the Band and Kim Denis of Edmonton will be working with the choir. These intense rehearsal days push students to a higher level of playing and performing. They are challenged in exciting and new ways not only as individual musicians but also as ensemble players.
A huge thank-you goes to all the secondary music teachers who have worked tirelessly, both in the auditioning and rehearsing areas, to make this event happen.
