Haldane Elementary: The Number 1 Green School in Canada celebrates their 22nd annual Earth Day.
Led again by Mrs. Brenda Melnychuk, Haldane Elementary celebrated its work on the environment at its Earth Day on April 20th. This year’s theme was “Caring for Water” and following an assembly for students and the community, students engaged in a variety of activities that emphasized environmental stewardship. “Caring for self, caring for others and caring for the environment” is the motto of the school and Mrs. Melnychuk, supported by her colleagues at Haldane has inspired a community of learners to reconsider how we interact with an environment, how we use our resources wisely, and what we can take action on to improve our habitats.
Haldane is recognized by the SEEDS Foundation as the most accredited environmental school in Canada with more than 6000 environmental actions.
Congratulations Haldane!
