International Education in Canada gives students from around the world an opportunity to learn English and experience Canadian culture. Students may participate in the program for 2 or 3 years leading to British Columbia High School Graduation. Other students may attend for a shorter term of 3, 5 or 10 months, with an emphasis on English language acquisition and cultural experience.
Students receive instruction in English as a second language. All courses are approved by the British Columbia Ministry of Education.
The education system in Canada is ranked as one of the top three in the world by the OECD based on testing in the Programme for International Student Achievement (PISA). PISA testing shows that Canadian education ranks significantly better than the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States in English, science and mathematics. British Columbia is one of the top ranked Canadian provinces. Kamloops School District is consistently ranked as one of the best in British Columbia.
