KISS ME, KATE is a musical comedy, and a play within a play. It is set in 1948 Baltimore, and a troupe of actors is performing Shakespeare's TAMING OF THE SHREW. The offstage relationships and conflicts within the lives of the actors influence what happens in their performances on the stage. Some of the complications involve a love triangle, two gangsters attempting to collect on a gambling debt, a not-so-innocent ingenue, and a politically ambitious military general. The music and lyrics are by Cole Porter and the book is by Sam and Bella Spewack. The more than 40 students involved are incredibly talented singers, dancers, and actors, and the pit orchestra consists of student musicians and community professionals. The show runs from Wed. Apr. 27 through Sat. Apr. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sagebrush Theatre. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, and $8.00 for students and seniors. They can be purchased at the SKSS main office, and at the Sagebrush on performance nights. Thank you for your support, and we'll see you at the theatre!
