Legends Puppet Show
Grade 4/5 students of Ms. Susan Mark's class performed puppet plays on Wednesday, March 14th (at RL Clemitson School), for parents and primary grade students. Thanks to Ms. Serena Bugden and the funding from District 73 First Nations Grant, the project allowed students to create wonderful puppets depicting animal characters to go with their own First Nations legends.
After much reading and studying, the students wrote their own First Nations legends and turned them into co-operative puppets plays. Several groups performed their own renditions of 'How Things Came to Be" -following a common the theme of many First Nations oral traditions.
