The Grad Legacy Project is a visionary enterprise undertaken by a group of the grade 12 class to beautify the school grounds by planting trees along the west pathway stretching from the school to Summit Avenue. This project was conceived by students and completed to benefit present and future students. The initial proposal was for 21 trees. But, with the support of our District’s Maintenance Department to add 5 more trees and help with the planting as well as supplying the irrigation system, we are looking forward to a legacy of a shady pathway under 26 healthy trees.
Our graduates have raised the equivalent of $10,000.00 for their vision. Local sponsors have been both numerous and generous (Safety Mart Foods, Kamloops Parks Department, CSC Electric, Acres Enterprises, Arrow Transportation, New Gold, M3 Steel, Kamloops Naturopathic Clinic, Domtar, Shailendra Prasad, and Thom Wroz). In addition to local sponsors, the city of Kamloops donated 10 trees (the equivalent of about $5000.00).
Thank you to all supporters of this project and congratulations to the grade 12 class of 2012!
