We Day 2011
3:30am was an exciting time on October 13, 2011, as over 700 students, teachers and parents joined a cavalcade to We Day 2011, organized by Mark and Craig Kielburger's 'Free the Children'.
Inspirational and motivational speakers such as former Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev and former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, as well as performing artists Hedley, Shawn Desman and Down with Webster, drew thunderous approval from the 18,000 participants at Rogers Centre.
"We Day inspires young people to follow their passion and take action both locally and globally."
Students from across our district return to our schools inspired to take action and make a difference in their world. Leadership groups have already begun organizing events such as Halloween for Hunger, the Nov 30th Vow of Silence, and fundraising towards the drought in East Africa. Please support our students in their tremendous efforts!
