Young Authors

The Young Authors’ Conference is an annual event bringing together the best authors in our District to work with professional authors and writers.  2013 will mark the 34th anniversary of our conference.

Students in grades 4 through 12 are eligible to participate.  To enter, a student would submit a manuscript of prose or poetry (up to 1,000 words) to their school’s selection committee.  This committee would select outstanding pieces for entry into the conference.  Each year about 150 to 200 students participate in the conference.

The Conference Committee reads each manuscript and includes it in an anthology that is distributed to schools.  Recent Anthologies are posted on the Young Authors’ website.

The Conference is held each year at Thompson Rivers University.
